DEBI award winners

Last year's winners enjoying the Awards night at the Met Office in Exeter

The 2015 Devon Environmental Business Initiative (DEBI) Awards are now open for entries.

The not-for-profit organisation encourages Devon-based businesses to adopt environmentally sound and profitable policies and achieve environmental best practice. JPA's practice manager is proud to be a trustee of DEBI, as well as a judge for its annual awards which recognise the environmental efforts of businesses and individuals in a number of categories (listed below).

DEBI 2015 Member Award

For the first time, DEBI has also introduced a new award exclusively for its members. This is open to DEBI’s corporate supporters and members. After the closing date, the judges will reduce all applications to a shortlist of four finalists and then these will be put to a vote via social media and within the membership. The finalist with the most votes will be announced as the winner at the awards.

Other categories are:

DEBI Environmental Education Award

For those who promote environmental education across Devon.

DEBI Made in Devon Award

For organisations of all sizes that manufacture, grow and make products or provide a service in Devon while minimising resource usage and waste.

DEBI Enjoyed in Devon Award

For those in the hospitality, leisure and retail sectors that provide locally produced or sourced products or services that can be enjoyed by all who visit or live in Devon.

DEBI Sustainable Ethos Award

For businesses, co-operatives and community projects whose end product may not have anything to do with the environment, but which operate in an ethical manner while having regard to their environmental impact, and also striving to contribute to a better society.

DEBI 2015 Environmental Champion

For someone who commits a substantial amount of their own time and effort to a community, conservation or educational project that has enhanced Devon’s environment.
